Salary
We offer a competitive salary appropriate to each role. Salaries are reviewed with effect from 1 April each year in line with the NJC cost of living award for local government services.
Annual leave and statutory holidays
Your annual leave entitlement will be 28 days, rising to 30 days after three years Local Government service and to 32 days after five years Local Government service. In addition to annual leave, you will be entitled to statutory holidays occurring during your contract.
Sickness payments
We apply the scheme agreed by the NJC for local government services.
Pension
Employees have the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. If you join the scheme, you will pay the relevant contribution of your salary to the pension fund. The organisation will also contribute to the scheme on your behalf.
Season ticket loan
You will be entitled to receive an interest-free season ticket loan.
Performance review and learning opportunities
We operate a performance review scheme which aims to help individuals to perform their role to the best of their ability and to develop their career to reach their full potential. A range of learning opportunities relevant to the role are available.
Duration of contract
A variety of contracts are offered including Fixed Term, Secondment or Permanent as appropriate to the role and the needs of the organisation.
Hours of work
Normal working hours for full time employees are 35 per week, exclusive of breaks, Monday to Friday. Your work pattern, including start/finish times and lunch breaks, will be determined by arrangement with your manager with a reasonable degree of flexibility, in order to fulfil the demands of their post. The degree of flexibility will be commensurate with the level and nature of the post.
Notice period
The notice period is either 4 weeks or 12 weeks in writing from either party (dependent on the level of the role).
